What is the IBAN format in the UK?
Every UK bank account has an IBAN, or International Bank Account Number. This enables foreign banks to make international payments to the correct bank account.
In the UK, IBANs consist of 22 characters. They consist of the ISO country code (GB), the check digits (the numbers 29), the bank code (four characters), branch code (a six-digit sort code) and bank account number (eight digits).
