What information do I need to send money to a Mexican bank account?
In order to send money to a Mexican bank account, you’ll need to provide the following information, as well as additional documentation that supports your reason for payment.
- Full name of account holder
- Account Number (full 18 digit CLABE number)
- BIC/SWIFT code
- Invoice with supplier’s name and address (if making a business payment)
- Photographic ID of the recipient and a copy of the recipient’s bank statement, less than three months old, with proof of address (if making a personal payment)
- A bank statement from the recipient account, less than three months old (if paying your own account in Mexico)

What is a CLABE number?
The CLABE code is a banking requirement for all accounts in Mexico and serves as an account number. This is an 18 digit code that enables other banks to identify the individual account when sending money to it. We require this for all payments to Mexico to ensure we get your money where it needs to be.
