On International Women's Day 2023, Moneycorp launched its pilot Women's Mentoring Programme. Today, we celebrate the conclusion of our first successful cycle, marking a year of remarkable achievements. An event in April will commemorate the progress made by our participants.
The initiative paired women from across the UK, aligning their aspirations and goals with the rich personal and professional experiences of their mentors. The mentees and mentors received coaching to help them get the most out of their partnership, as well as guidance on how to approach the programme.
Following its success, the programme has now launched in the US business and will run for its second year in the UK in the second half of the year.
Susie Hutchinson, HR Officer and programme facilitator shared her insights:
"The programme has been a transformative journey for all of us. The mentors, the mentees, and I have all emerged from the pilot enriched and brimming with ideas for the next group, a testament to the personal growth and empowerment this initiative fosters.
"We discovered that it was really important for the mentees and mentors to have support from each other, as well as from their partnerships, so we'll be introducing more formal peer support sessions for each group to talk about their experiences in the next cohort. We'll also be looking at expanding the programme so more people can take advantage of the incredible skills and experience we have access to in the business.
"I’d like to thank all the mentors and mentees for all their time, commitment, and invaluable feedback in developing the programme."
Formal mentoring programmes have proven to be a powerful catalyst for women's career advancement. Mentored individuals are promoted up to five times more often than their non-mentored peers, and an impressive 89% of individuals with mentors go on to mentor others, creating a ripple effect of success.
The Women's Mentoring Programme underscores Moneycorp's commitment to fostering a culture of belonging and empowerment for women across the globe. Its aim is to improve gender diversity across all departments and levels of seniority and has been created to provide more equitable access to skill-building opportunities across the business.
At Moneycorp, we recognise the invaluable contributions of the women in our workforce and reaffirm our dedication to providing equal opportunities for growth, advancement, and success. Across our whole Group, we champion diversity, inclusivity, and equity and continue to place unwavering focus on driving positive change within Moneycorp.
